Rainy Day, much needed water...

The rain is falling in torrents this afternoon in March. We turn the clocks ahead this weekend, and it's likely we won't have much more rain after this week. We'll see. The good news: we already have over 100% of a typical year's rainfall. That's more than good news. That's great news. We may not be able to squander our water this summer, but at least the restrictions may not be as great as they are during a drought year.

I can't wait for the ground to dry out a little so I can plant a garden. Living off the land, living a slower lifestyle is such an intriguing idea. And now that I live in the only CittaSlow city in the U.S., that would be Sonoma, California, it seems only proper to plant the garden, and eat locally... very locally!

Living in a 'slow city' may not sound advantageous in this high tech, fast paced world, but the availability of delicious, thoughtful food and the notion of taking the time to cook, eat and share is truly significant to looking back at a life well lived.
